The Dissolving Self utilizes the David—a classical icon of Renaissance rationality—as a metaphysical vessel to explore the philosophical dialectic between deconstruction, fission, and void. As rigid stone dissolves into fluid forms, a darkened micro-self splits from the primary figure, reflecting the repressed shadow and internal friction.

The hollow gaze and floating bubbles capture the precise moment the soul detaches from its physical shell, embarking on a metaphysical wander. Through the departure and loss of the soul, the artwork poses a poignant inquiry: as external order and selfhood collapse, are we ascending toward transcendent freedom, or sinking into an eternal loss of existence?
